Join our cause and give today—a gift of any amount is a building block in the future of our workforce!
The Rochester Chamber of Commerce Foundation aims to serve our community through providing needed funds to those committed to taking an active role in advancing the Greater Rochester area. We want to provide those willing to dedicate their time and effort with the resources necessary to achieve their visions, to the end that our community as a whole benefits when those with a vested interest are given the means to turn ideas into action.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING GRANT
The Foundation is dedicated to building our future workforce through ensuring that students and learners of all ages are primed and prepared for both the challenges and opportunities that await them in the real world of work. We believe the best way to ensure this preparedness is to allow students to engage in these experiences first-hand, frequently and early on.
Experiential learning is the simple process of learning through active experience, and reflecting on doing so. By providing students with these real-world experiences and the opportunity to reflect on them in a learning environment, we help them to better identify their passions, interests, and the skills they need to be successful in their future career endeavors.
In our commitment to this cause, each year the Foundation will award one Experiential Learning Grant to an Educator looking to create or provide further experiential learning opportunities for students. All Educators within the Rochester Area are eligible, and projects can be geared toward students and learners of any age or grade level. One or multiple grants up to a total funding amount of $3,000 will be awarded each year. The current grant cycle is open for applications. All applications are due March 31, 2017.Grant funds are awarded in Spring, and recipients will be recognized at the Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Breakfast on April 25, from 8 - 9:30 a.m.For more information on the Experiential Learning Grant and requirements for application, please see the 2017 grant criteria here.To apply for the 2017 Experiential Learning Grant, please complete the application found below and send completed form to: Kaylie McGregor, Workforce Development & Education Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
