    Event Description:
Develop relationships within this supportive group of women leaders who meet the third Friday morning of each month. The Women's Round Table provides a small, safe environment for women to: practice and refine skills, discuss challenges specific to women in positions of leadership, learn together and empower each other to take risks. Join us for a fun, engaging program driven by the needs of the group.

This roundtable meeting will feature a presentation by: Christina Wood, MA, MT-BC, Proud Business Owner, Mom, Wife, Entrepreneur, Musician, and Clinical Director of Healing Rhythms. As a board-certified music therapist she is passionate about empowering individuals of all ages and abilities to use music in their lives. She founded Healing Rhythms in 2013 to increase access to music therapy services in Rochester and throughout greater southern MN.  She leads a team of 7 board-certified music therapists that serve 22 counties. The Healing Rhythms team serves hospitalized children, children and adults with special needs, adults on palliative care, seniors, individuals with dementia, patients, and families receiving hospice care. Christina's own clinical work focuses on pediatrics and adult palliative care and her research interests are on the benefits of medical music therapy on patient care and quality of life.  She loves piloting new music therapy programs and speaking to groups about music therapy, as well as the intentional use of music in our daily lives to promote self-care and wellness.

Presentation Details: Music is often referred to as the universal language.  In this highly experiential workshop we will explore the intentional use of music in your own life. Christina will share briefly about the work that music therapists do to empower people to use music to promote self-care, whether in a healthcare or mental crisis or in our daily lives and the impact that music therapy has on our community. You will also experience a music-based relaxation exercise for your own self-care and learn tips on how to intentionally incorporate music in your own professional and personal lives.

So come ready to experience live music and leave with a creative outlook on how to use music in your own life!
